What you get in the MP3

Every download is a 24 kHz, 96 kbps mono MP3. That is speech-optimised: the sample rate covers the human voice comfortably, the bitrate keeps files small, and mono is what narration actually is. A five-minute narration lands around 3.5 MB.

There is no watermark, no intro sting and no account binding. The file plays anywhere and edits like any other audio asset.

How to download text to speech as MP3

Paste the script, choose a voice, press generate, listen once, then use Download MP3. If the script is longer than 5,000 characters, split it at paragraph breaks and generate each part — bitrate and sample rate stay identical, so the parts join without an audible seam.

Name the parts in order (01-intro, 02-body) before you import them, otherwise you will re-order them by ear later.

How big will the file be?

At 96 kbps, one minute of speech is roughly 0.7 MB. A five-minute narration is about 3.5 MB, a 20-minute lecture about 14 MB, and a full hour about 43 MB. That matters when you are uploading to a platform with a file-size cap or emailing a client.

If a file is too large, do not lower the bitrate further — speech at 64 kbps starts to sound hollow. Split the audio at natural pauses instead, or convert to OGG for web playback, which is smaller at the same perceived quality.

When MP3 is the wrong format

MP3 is lossy. If you are stacking many generations or running heavy processing, keep a WAV master: use the free audio converter to turn the MP3 into WAV locally, then edit that. For web playback, OGG at the same bitrate is smaller.

For podcast delivery, most hosts re-encode anyway, so upload the MP3 and let them normalise. For video, your editor decodes it to its own audio format on import.

Text to Speech MP3 Download FAQ

Is the MP3 download really free?

Yes. Generate and download without an account, a card or a watermark, up to 5,000 characters per request.

What quality is the MP3?

24 kHz, 96 kbps mono — speech-optimised, and small enough to email or upload without compressing it again.

Can I download without signing up?

Yes. There is no sign-up step and no email gate before the download button appears.

Why is my file mono?

Narration is a single source, so mono halves the size with no audible loss. Convert to stereo in your editor if a platform insists.

Can I convert the MP3 to WAV?

Yes — use the free audio converter, which runs in your browser and never uploads the file.
